Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands has a vacancy for an Assistant or Associate PROFESSOR in SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
The TU Delft Software Engineering Research Group SERG has an opening for
a Assistant or Associate Professor in Software Engineering. Prospective

The Software Engineering Research Group SERG
The SCT Software Engineering Section (SERG,
http://www.se.ewi.tudelft.nl/) conducts research in the areas of
software evolution and software language engineering. The section
employs over 25 people, including academic staff, around 15 PhD
students, and several postdoctoral researchers.
The section is an internationally leading research group in software
engineering, and active in such areas as software architecture, software
testing, model-driven engineering, software evolution, and
domain-specific languages. The group is responsible for programming and
software engineering education at the bachelor and masters levels in the
TU Delft Computer Science curriculum.
Responsibilities
We are seeking to strengthen our group with an ambitious and
enthusiastic associate or assistant professor. Responsibilities for the
candidate include:
* Conducting high impact research in the area of software engineering
* Supervising PhD students, helping them to become top researchers in
software engineering
* Teaching courses on software engineering topics at the bachelor as
well as the masters level in the TU Delft Computer Science curriculum
* Supervising master students in their graduation projects
* Acquiring and managing externally funded research projects in
software engineering
* Collaborating with industry to ensure that the group's research
results have a lasting impact in software development practice
* Strengthening the contacts between the group and industry as well
as other international academic institutions
* Taking responsibility for management and committee work within the
section and the department
Requirements
Requirements for the candidate include:
* PhD in computer science or equivalent
* Strong track record in software engineering research, as evidenced
by refereed publications in the strongest journals and conference
proceedings.
* Experience in supervising PhD students
* Experience in developing and teaching academic courses
* International visibility, and substantial international network of
contacts with industry and academia
* Good communicator, strong social skills, team player.
The Position
The position will be offered as part of the TU Delft tenure track programme.
Candidates aiming at the assistant as well as at the associate level are
welcome to apply. Associate level candidates are required to bring in
substantially more experience, and the ambition to contribute
substantially to the group and the faculty's international leadership.
Conditions of employment
TU Delft offers an attractive benefits package, including a flexible

compensation and benefits package (the 'IKA'). Salary and benefits are
in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch
Universities. TU Delft sets specific standards for the English
