The Department of Computer Science at TU Dortmund University invites applications for the position of
Assistant Professor (W2, temporary position for 5 years) in Computer Science
commencing as soon as possible.
The position is intended to strengthen the Collaborative Research Center SFB 876 "Providing Information by Resource-Constrained Data Analysisâ". Candidates should be recognized for research and teaching in at least one of the following fields of computer science:
* Cyber-Physical Systems,
* Big Data (Analytics, Algorithmics),
* Privacy, Security.
Areas of special interest are data management and data mining under resource constraints, for instance in networked embedded systems, in the analysis of data streams, or in distributed computing. In addition to the participation in the SFB 876, the successful applicant is expected to contribute to
* undergraduate and graduate teaching,
* the self-administration of the department.
It is expected that, after two years, the candidate will be capable of teaching in German.
Preconditions for employment are specified in § 36 HG of the state of NRW. Applicants are expected to have an excellent scientific record, which has been obtained as a PhD student and /or a postdoctoral researcher.
