4 full-time positions for Doctoral or Postdoctoral Researchers
in Algorithmics and Network Science (salary scale 13 TV-L)

from September 1, 2013, for up to four years. In principle, each position can be divided into two half-time positions.
"NEXUS 1492. New World Encounters in a Globalizing World" is a large-scale interdisciplinary project focusing on the impact of colonial encounters in the Caribbean. See www.nexus1492.eu for more information.

Applicants must hold a university degree (at least 4-years), preferably in computer science, statistics, or mathematics. A background in network modeling, graph algorithms, machine learning, or similar is desirable but others will be considered as well. A strong background in relevant methods is valued more than previous experience in network science.
Successful applicants will be based in Konstanz and conduct top-level international research on network reconstruction from sparse and heterogeneous data using probabilistic network models, combinatorial network analysis, and geo-referenced network visualization. They will work in an international and interdisciplinary team and will be given the opportunity to work toward a PhD.
